With the unceasing violence taking place in Orissa and Karanataka, Railway Oscar, Lalu Resolves To Take Up Orissa Issue In The CabinetMinister Lalu Prasad Yadav and Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes have resolved to take up the issue before the Cabinet meeting which is scheduled to take place on Friday.

The matter needs to be reviewed and some concrete measures have to be taken before it gets worse. With Prime Minister Manmohan Singh citing the attacks on Christians in the States of Orissa and Karanataka as “acts of national shame” and the issue being aggravated, reaching a solution will be given a priority at the Meeting.

Having faced disapproval at International front for the ongoing strife, the Prime Minister affirmed the European Union that India was a secular, multireligious and multicultural nation and safeguards of its people is in the national interest. With another advisory being issued in Orissa, the state government was asked to keep ‘utmost vigil’ and ensure law and order.

The RJD leader affirming said “The prime minister has just returned. A Cabinet meeting has been called and we will apprise him of your sentiments. We will also request him to either visit the places of occurrence himself or send a delegation there.” 

The blame game is taking place with BJP and RJD governments in Karnataka and Orissa, pointing fingers at Sangh Parivar outfits like the Bajrang Dal, for uprising communal tension in the State. 

CPM general secretary Prakash Karat said that the UPA government did not act responsibly as it was over a month since the situation got out of control in the State Sitaram Yechury said that Centre should intervene as it had every right to do so if the State is not capable of handling such a situation. 

Giving affirmation to the public Oscar Fernandes said, “We will fight the issue inside and outside Parliament.”
