Parambrata’s Directorial Venture 'Jiyo Kaka' Portrays Rituparna Sengupta As A Popular Heroine
Bengali film star Parambrata Chattopadhyay, who has debuted into direction with the movie Jiyo Kaka, has portrayed actress Rituparna Sengupta as a popular moody heroine, who is also a mother.
Param’s movie deals with three normal guys with a dream of making a movie together. Aasif, Ritwik and Amitabha are shattered when no one in the industry pays heed to their aspirations. A popular actress Nilanjana rejects their script and calls it amateurish and absurd. Rejected and humiliated by the industry, these three guys become desperate to do something special and radical.
Speaking about the film, Param says that his film’s main story will start after these three guys start their second innings desperately. He says that unlike any other film, his project will also project the plight of the scriptwriters and assistant directors, who are often treated like minnows.
The actor turned director has earlier worked with Rituparna in the films Nishijapon and Swarger Niche Manush, says that he has deliberately avoided portraying Rituparna as a diva. According to him, the Bengali film industry has no such divas, so he avoided projecting her like that. She has been projected as a moody leading actress with a quirky secretary. He is not worried about people comparing with her real life because these are common traits of any actress in her mid 30s. He is in all praise for the actress and termed her being highly professional and a good time manager.
The excitement is also same with the actress. She says that she is very happy to see the development of Param from a television actor to a co-star to a director. Rituparna finds him very sensitive and instructive as an actor but he can be a very man at the same time. The actress believes that Jiyo Kaka will open a new avenue in the Bengali film industry.
Parambrata has proved himself as a versatile actor, so we will look forward a quality direction from him now.
