Pb govt rolls out new health prog for school children
Punjab government has come up with a new programme, which aims to cut down the morbidity rate among its school children.
Speaking with the media persons, Upinderjit Kaur, Punjab’s Education Minister, said that the new programme was a significant part of education which should assist in keeping a close watch on the health of school going children.
Giving details regarding the programme, Kaur said that school health teams will conduct medical check-up of primary and middle school students for various ailments along with their treatment through referral services.
All the field education officers have also been asked to keep health registers in all the state schools.
Apart from this, these specialized teams will also impart health education to the school children and teachers.
The health programme had been launched under the Sarv Sikhsha Abhiyaan.
