PCB may appoint Misbah as next vice-captain

Lahore, Dec 17: The Pakistan Cricket Board is all set to appoint Misbah-ul-Haq as the next vice-captain for the forthcoming cricketing season, sources in PCB have revealed.

According to sources, the proposal in this regard will be discussed in the PCB's January 15 governing board meeting.

Misbah's name for vice-captaincy was cited following a controversy where Younis Khan had refused to lead the side in the last Test match in India earlier this month in the absence of team captain Shoaib Malik, a The Nation report has said.

Only after the intervention of PCB chief Nasim Ashraf, Khan agreed to take captaincy.

All these developments will compel a majority of PCB members to vote in favour of Misbah, sources claimed.
