Mumbai, Feb 12 : Akshay Kumar, who will be seen as a Defence Intelligence Agent (DIA) in his forthcoming film "Holiday: A Soldier Never Off Duty", says he enjoyed the role "more than I ever imagined".
The film's trailer released online Wednesday and gave a sneak peek into the action packed thriller that also stars Sonakshi Sinha.
"... It's the first time that I'm playing a DIA, a role I've enjoyed portraying more than I ever imagined," Akshay said in a statement.
Kolkata, Dec 20 : Hailing the eastern metropolis as the "city of sports", Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar Friday revealed that he played soccer in school and was the goalkeeper.
The "Khiladi" star reminisced his three years spent in the city and fondly recalled his love for football.
"I used to be a goalkeeper in my school. I call myself, more than anything else, a sportsman," he said at a programme in East Bengal club.
Mumbai, Dec 19 : Bollywood action hero Akshay Kumar is the latest celebrity to sit on the couch across filmmaker Karan Johar on his celebrity chat show "Koffee With Karan".
Akshay took to micro-blogging website Twitter to share how Karan was trying to make their session a "steaming one".
"Not a coffee drinker but here I am on the sets of 'Koffee With Karan', with Karan trying his best to make it a steaming one," Akshay tweeted.
Even the "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" director posted a photograph of Akshay and himself.
Mumbai, Nov 6 : Filmmaker Punit Malhotra, who has been associated with Bollywood love stories, says his next film "Gutka" starring Akshay Kumar will be completely different from his past projects and will be in the drama space.
"I am making a drama... my next film 'Gutka'. Akshay plays the lead in the film. It's a drama and it's a completely different film from what I have made earlier," Malhotra told IANS.
Without divulging more about the project, he added: "It's too early to talk about it. We have to lock the script and then it will go on the floors. We haven't finalized the leading actress yet."
Mumbai, Oct 17 : Actor Akshay Kumar is happy with the first day response to his film "Boss" that released on Eid Wednesday, and says he couldn't have asked for more.
"Today (Wednesday) is the first day of release (of 'Boss'). Everything is going fine. I am very happy that it has got a good response," Akshay told reporters at the Gaity Galaxy theatre here.
"I am very thankful to the audience that they are watching the film and have loved it. That's what an artist wants," he added.
Mumbai, Oct 14 : Bollywood star Akshay Kumar will unveil the world's largest poster of his movie "Boss" in Mumbai Tuesday.
The poster, which is 193 feet and 1 inch wide and 180 feet and 2 inches tall, has entered the Guinness World Records for the largest poster in the world. It has broken the earlier record held by the poster of Michael Jackson's "This Is It", a documentary-concert film.
Akshay will unveil the special poster at the Andheri Sports Complex Oct 15 in the presence of his fans.
Mumbai, Oct 10 : Akshay Kumar's upcoming film "Boss" has entered the Guinness World Records for having the largest poster in the world.
The width of the poster is 193 feet and 1 inch while its height is 180 feet and 2 inches.
Created by a group of Akshay's fans called Team Akshay, it was unveiled at the Little Gransden Airfield, Britain, Oct 3. It took them four months to prepare the poster.
Tweeting his happiness, Akshay said, "A humbling experience to be a part of the world's largest poster. Thank you for the love."
Dubai, Oct 2 : Akshay Kumar never leaves a chance to show off his "khiladi" side. Here to promote his forthcoming action-entertainer "Boss", the actor came on a jet-ski to address the media on a yacht Wednesday.
Akshay, who is synonymous to thrills, surprised everyone when he made his entry to the yacht coming on a jet-ski.
Accompanying the actor for the promotion were his co-star Aditi Rao Hydari, and popular rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, who has sung and composed the track "Party all night" for the film.
New Delhi, Oct 1 : Actor Akshay Kumar will launch the song "Har kisi ko nahi milta" from his forthcoming film "Boss" in Dubai this weekend.
The song features Sonakshi Sinha along with the superstar.
"'Har kisi ko nahi milta' has a very fresh and contemporary feel to it and the sizzling chemistry of the duo is something to watch out for," said a source close to the team.
The song is a reprised version of the original which is from the 1986 film "Janbaaz".
New Delhi, Sep 17 : Bollywood's 'khiladi' Akshay Kumar shot a grand entry scene for his forthcoming movie "Boss". He stands atop a tilted Mercedes car, which is seen moving on just two wheels.
The specially designed bright golden coloured Mercedes was imported from Europe to Bangkok and was modified according to the need of the stunts. It was Akshay's idea to stand on the tilted car, read a statement.
A source close to the production team says Akshay was pleasantly surprised to see the car and he loved its looks.

Mumbai, Aug 5 : Watching Akshay Kumar in a promo of "Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara!" reminded Hollywood superstar Al Pacino of his own blockbuster "The Godfather".
Akshay is glad that a person of his stature noticed his film.
"He appreciated the whole film and said that the film reminded him of his own film 'Godfather'. It feels good that such a big star talks about our film and it's a big thing for our industry," the 44-year-old said here at the launch of the third promo of the film.

New Delhi, June 3 : Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is dissuading viewers from using mobile phones inside theatres.
He has shot for a short film, which hit the theatres Friday, where he is seen making the request.
The actor, who will be seen playing gangster Shoaib in "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again", features as his character from the gangster drama while giving the message in the clip, helmed by Milan Luthria, who has also directed the feature film.
The short message is being played in PVR and Cinemax properties in the country from May 31 and will be shown till Aug 8, when the film releases.

Known to have worked with Akshay in a number of films like "Waqt: The Race Against Time" and "Singh Is Kinng", Shah decided to work with Vidyut Jamwal in action-packed "Commando". But for "Commando 2" he will collaborate with his favourite actor Akshay, but on a different level.

Kolkata, April 4 : Refuting rumours that his upcoming movie "Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai Again" (OUATIMA) is based on the lives of two underworld dons - Dawood Ibrahim and Chota Rajan - Akshay Kumar said it is a fictional story with no real life characters.
"Let me correct you, we are not playing real life characters," said actor Akshay, who plays Shoaib Khan in the underworld drama, in which Imran Khan will be seen as Aslam.
Mumbai, March 4 : Ramesh Taurani has signed Akshay Kumar for two films and the Bollywood star will reportedly get Rs. 80 crore for the projects.
"Yes, we have signed Akshay Kumar for our next two films. The first will go on the floors in July first week and will be shot in Cape Town. The film will be co-directed by Sajid-Farhad, who were the dialogue writers for 'Bol Bachchan', 'Golmaal Returns', and 'Housefull 2'. It will be a comedy film," Ramesh Taurani of Tips told IANS.
"The second film will go on the floors in 2014. The director of the second film has not been decided yet," he added.
Mumbai, Jan 26 : Actor Akshay Kumar is delighted that his father-in-law, the late actor Rajesh Khanna, has been posthumously honoured with the Padma Bhushan, India's third highest civilian honour.
"I am really very happy. I am obliged that the government has recognised my father-in-law's work. I am extremely happy," said Akshay, who is married to Rajesh Khanna's elder daughter Twinkle.
The awards were announced Friday.
