Holiday-MovieNew Delhi, May 31 : Language turned out to be a bit of an issue on the set of forthcoming Bollywood film "Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty" as it had a mix of Hindi and Tamil-speaking crew. But the film's lead actors Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha say it was all in good fun!

For one of the songs in this Hindi remake of Tamil entertainer "Thuppakki", some sand had to be thrown in the air for effect. But the people who were responsible for throwing the sand ended up overdoing it as the instructions were being given in Hindi and they didn't understand it.

'Holiday' not a typical Akshay Kumar film: Akshay

Akshay-KumarMumbai, May 28 : No one can fault Akshay Kumar's dare-devilry on screen, but Bollywood's action titan insists his forthcoming film "Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty" shouldn't be confused with a typical action-drama. He says the film's topic, which focuses on terrorism and sleeper cells, as well as real stunts sets it apart.

"'Holiday' is an amazing film on what terrorism is all about and how the army tries to capture the sleeper cells," Akshay, who has teamed up with Sonakshi Sinha for the fifth time in the movie, told IANS in an interview.

If I get good script, I'll do sex comedy: Akshay Kumar

Akshay-KumarMumbai, May 21 : Bollywood's action star Akshay Kumar, who is equally good at comedy, has a pragmatic approach towards the movie genres and says that he is open to doing sex comedies because for him it would be just "a character".

Sex comedies are not often appreciated by the masses, but Akshay said: "Nobody is forcing you to watch such films. 'Grand Masti' did well at the box office, but if you don't like it then don't watch it."

Akshay Kumar in love with Nepali fans' support

Akshay-KumarMumbai, May 7 : Ever since Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar reached Nepal, he has been appreciating the Hindu shrines and now the support from the locals.

He set foot in Nepal May 2 and is overwhelmed to see his fans.

"Most amazing crowd an actor could wish for! Nepal I don’t know why it took me 20 years to come back here. Loving your support,” Akshay posted on Twitter Tuesday.

He was present at the trailer launch of the film "Fugly", which he has produced with Ashwini Yardi under their Grazing Goat Pictures banner.

Asked if he ever plans to turn to direction, he said: "I don't want to go into direction, I am happy where I am. I don't want to direct even. Why should I do anything that I don't know?"

'Holiday' was enjoyable: Akshay

Akshay-KumarMumbai, Feb 12 : Akshay Kumar, who will be seen as a Defence Intelligence Agent (DIA) in his forthcoming film "Holiday: A Soldier Never Off Duty", says he enjoyed the role "more than I ever imagined".

The film's trailer released online Wednesday and gave a sneak peek into the action packed thriller that also stars Sonakshi Sinha.

"... It's the first time that I'm playing a DIA, a role I've enjoyed portraying more than I ever imagined," Akshay said in a statement.

Played football in school, used to be goalkeeper: Akshay Kumar

The "Khiladi" star reminisced his three years spent in the city and fondly recalled his love for football.

"I used to be a goalkeeper in my school. I call myself, more than anything else, a sportsman," he said at a programme in East Bengal club.

Akshay's 'Gutka' to have taste of drama

Akshay-KumarMumbai, Nov 6 : Filmmaker Punit Malhotra, who has been associated with Bollywood love stories, says his next film "Gutka" starring Akshay Kumar will be completely different from his past projects and will be in the drama space.

"I am making a drama... my next film 'Gutka'. Akshay plays the lead in the film. It's a drama and it's a completely different film from what I have made earlier," Malhotra told IANS.

Without divulging more about the project, he added: "It's too early to talk about it. We have to lock the script and then it will go on the floors. We haven't finalized the leading actress yet."

Akshay happy with first day response to 'Boss'

"Today (Wednesday) is the first day of release (of 'Boss'). Everything is going fine. I am very happy that it has got a good response," Akshay told reporters at the Gaity Galaxy theatre here.

"I am very thankful to the audience that they are watching the film and have loved it. That's what an artist wants," he added.

Akshay to unveil record-breaking poster in Mumbai

The poster, which is 193 feet and 1 inch wide and 180 feet and 2 inches tall, has entered the Guinness World Records for the largest poster in the world. It has broken the earlier record held by the poster of Michael Jackson's "This Is It", a documentary-concert film.

Akshay will unveil the special poster at the Andheri Sports Complex Oct 15 in the presence of his fans.

Akshay's 'Boss' enters Guinness World Records

The width of the poster is 193 feet and 1 inch while its height is 180 feet and 2 inches.

Created by a group of Akshay's fans called Team Akshay, it was unveiled at the Little Gransden Airfield, Britain, Oct 3. It took them four months to prepare the poster.

Tweeting his happiness, Akshay said, "A humbling experience to be a part of the world's largest poster. Thank you for the love."

Akshay rides jet-ski for 'Boss' promotion in DubaiDubai, Oct 2 : Akshay Kumar never leaves a chance to show off his "khiladi" side. Here to promote his forthcoming action-entertainer "Boss", the actor came on a jet-ski to address the media on a yacht Wednesday.

Akshay, who is synonymous to thrills, surprised everyone when he made his entry to the yacht coming on a jet-ski.

Accompanying the actor for the promotion were his co-star Aditi Rao Hydari, and popular rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, who has sung and composed the track "Party all night" for the film.

Akshay to launch song 'Har kisi ko' in Dubai

The song features Sonakshi Sinha along with the superstar.

"'Har kisi ko nahi milta' has a very fresh and contemporary feel to it and the sizzling chemistry of the duo is something to watch out for," said a source close to the team.

The song is a reprised version of the original which is from the 1986 film "Janbaaz".

Akshay makes bravo entry for 'Boss'

akshay-kumarNew Delhi, Sep 17 : Bollywood's 'khiladi' Akshay Kumar shot a grand entry scene for his forthcoming movie "Boss". He stands atop a tilted Mercedes car, which is seen moving on just two wheels.

The specially designed bright golden coloured Mercedes was imported from Europe to Bangkok and was modified according to the need of the stunts. It was Akshay's idea to stand on the tilted car, read a statement.

A source close to the production team says Akshay was pleasantly surprised to see the car and he loved its looks.
