QGC and BOC come together to develop LNG plant in Chinchilla, QueenslandQueensland Gas Company and the BOC group have signed a deal to develop a liquefied natural gas plant worth $A100 million at Chinchilla in Southern Queensland. This is reportedly the first plant in Australia to convert coal seam methane gas to liquefied natural gas.

Queensland Premier Anna Bligh announced the deal today at Chinchilla. The new plant is completely for domestic consumption and will provide LNG to create fuel for trucks.

Queensland premier fails to recall cases of Indian kids stolen for adoption

Queensland, Aug 25 : Queensland Premier Anna Bligh has said that she was not aware of adoptions of stolen Indian children during her term as Child Safety Minister.

Bligh said the Queensland Government was assisting in the investigation but she could not recall concerns about child stealing during her time as Child Safety Minister.

“Not to the best of my recollection, but there is material being gathered by the department about the child concerned so there may well be something that I don''t recall, but as you''ll appreciate it is a long time ago,” she said.

News. com. au quoted Bligh as saying that she did not wish to speculate about the validity of the adoption, should the case go to court.

Melbourne, May 29 : Queensland Premier denies Oz police bungle in Dr Death’s caseDespite allegations of a police bungle, Queensland Premier Anna Bligh today said that lawyers have provided all the necessary legal documents to extradite Dr Jayant Patel, a doctor of Indian origin who acquired the sobriquet “Dr Death” for botching several surgeries resulting in his patients deaths.

Bligh said the necessary documents had been supplied without delay and it was unlikely Patel would be released on bail.

Queensland Premier welcomes Haneef back to work

Queensland Premier Anna BlighMelbourne, Dec 21: Queensland Premier Anna Bligh has said that she would welcome Indian born doctor Mohamed Haneef back to work in the state's health system, after he won his latest court battle to return and work in Australia.

Bligh said that she was pleased to learn of the court's decision.

"The decision by the courts today in relation to Dr Haneef's visa adds... weight to concerns that all may not have been as it should have been in the dealings the Commonwealth Government had with Dr Haneef, " she added.
