The defending champion, Arvind Bhat has knocked out of the Tata Open after losing his match against Andhra qualifier K Tanishaq at CCI in Mumbai on Friday.

Bhat, the second seeded, has been defeated by Tanishaq in straight sets by 19-21, 16-21 in the first round match which lasted for 40 minutes.

Bhat was looking off color throughout the match as he produced a flurry of unforced errors to give free points to Tanishaq.

Bhat on this defeat said that he was not active throughout the match and Tanishaq has been a tricky player who won the big points at right time.
