Mumbai, Dec 9 : With four back to back hits this year, it is quite natural for Deepika Padukone to lead the nomination categories at award functions. The actress has been nominated in four categories at the BIG Star Entertainment Awards this year.
The fourth edition of BIG Star Entertainment Awards is scheduled to take place Dec 18, said a statement.
New Delhi, Nov 30 : Deepika Padukone's fluid and energy-packed dance in the "Nagada sang dhol" song from "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela" has been widely appreciated but she doubts if she can recreate the grandeur of the number sans the film's director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
She says the song's popularity was the "least expected of the lot".
"There were other songs in the album which we thought would become popular... this was the underdog," Deepika told IANS.
New Delhi, Nov 22 : Actress Deepika Padukone, daughter of former India badminton great Prakash Padukone, says all her co-stars - be it Shah Rukh Khan or Ranbir Kapoor - have challenged her to a game, and lost!
While shooting an episode of UTV Stars' "Breakfast to Dinner", Deepika shared how she has won challenges thrown to her by her fellow actors, said a statement.
"All my co-stars challenge me, whether it's Shah Rukh or Ranbir. They all challenge me, and of course they all lose," she said.

Mumbai, Sep 19 : If she looked gorgeous as a south Indian girl in "Chennai Express", Deepika Padukone stuns with her latest Gujarati girl avatar in "Ram Leela". The actress thanks designer Anju Modi because her costumes helped her get into the character in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's latest directorial venture.
"Anju has done a fabulous job considering this is her first feature film... I felt in the character the minute I wore the clothes. I felt like Leela," said the actress here in an interview.
Mumbai, Sep 19 : Deepika Padukone terms "Ram Leela" a very tough film saying that director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is such a perfectionist that he doesn't settle for anything less that what he has in mind.
This is her first film with Bhansali, known for making hits like "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" and "Devdas". He also went behind the camera for "Saawariya" and "Guzaarish", but they failed to appeal to the audiences.
Now the director-producer is coming up with "Ram Leela" with Deepika and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles.
Mumbai, Sep 16 : Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much-awaited film 'Ram Leela' trailer was unveiled Monday by the director and the film's lead pair of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
Deepika, who is playing Leela in the film, said: "Leela is the female version of Ram, who is very vulnerable but emotionally strong."
Ranveer described his character of Ram as raw, energetic and intense young boy from Gujarat.
For the trailer launch, Bhansali chose a Gujarati theme - the PVR complex here was completely decorated in Gujarati style.

"The get-up helps a lot... your job is half done if your styling is right," said Deepika
"If I am shooting in a village and the way that is created, it (the character) comes automatically. When you are in the (right) clothes and in the world of the film, you give it that much more automatically," she said.

Mumbai, July 31 : The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Wednesday threatened to disrupt the release of the Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer 'Chennai Express'.
The party's film unit is upset over reports that the Rohit Shetty-directed movie has demanded prime slots in single cinemas across the state at the expense of some Marathi movies that are being screened.
"If the producers of 'Chennai Express' attempt to dislodge any of the ongoing or forthcoming Marathi movies, we shall not tolerate it and deal with it in MNS style," warned Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Karmachari Sena (film wing) chief Amey Khopkar.
New Delhi, July 30 : Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone relived a scene from their 2007 film "Om Shanti Om" on the sets of a TV reality show.
The duo was promoting their forthcoming release "Chennai Express" on "Indian Idol Junior" when young contestant Anmol Jaswal sang the melodious "Aankhon mein teri" from "Om Shanti Om".
Anmol’s performance moved King Khan enough to make him come on stage and perform with the budding singer. As the mood built up, Deepika too joined SRK on stage and they ended up enacting the song, with Anmol singing the number live!
Mumbai, July 24 : The outfits donned by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in forthcoming film "Chennai Express" will be auctioned, and proceedings from the sale will go for a charity.
The auction will take place around the movie's release Aug 9. The film is directed by Rohit Shetty, and it is said to be an action romantic comedy.
Macau, July 7 - Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who won the Star Plus audience jodi of the year award for "Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani" at the 14th IIFA awards here, said that she missed her co-star Ranbir Kapoor who was not present at the awards.
"I miss Ranbir today. Thank you so much, Ayan, for making me look so wonderful in the film. I miss you and I love you," she said on receiving the awards.

Mumbai, June 18 : Dusky beauty Deepika Padukone is happy that she got to relive the classic "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (DDLJ) moment of chasing a train with superstar Shah Rukh Khan in her forthcoming release "Chennai Express".
Deepika will be seen catching a train a la Kajol in the 1995 blockbuster.
