Lebanon's Seniora to run in upcoming elections Beirut - Lebanon's Prime Minister Fouad Seniora announced Tuesday that he will run for the Sunni parliamentary seat in Sidon, southern Lebanon, in parliamentary elections due on June 7.

Seniora said he would campaign under the slogan of "coexistence, reform, socio-economic development and improvement of living conditions."

Lebanese premier: No Egyptian mediation between Lebanon and Israel Cairo - Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Seniora denied on Thursday any Egyptian mediation to resume negotiations between Lebanon and Israel on the lines of Turkey's role in Syrian-Israeli talks.

Seniora, who was speaking at a joint press conference with Arab League Secretary General Amr Mussa in Cairo, said that "no such thing is taking place."

Lebanon's Premier Fouad Seniora visits Iraq

Baghdad - Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Senior arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday, Iraqi state television reported.

Seniora's visit that will include talks on trade and oil, is the first to the conflict-torn country by a Lebanese leader in two decades.

Officials in Baghdad preparing for Seniora's visit told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa he would be accompanied by a political and economic delegation.

Iraq regards his visit as an important step towards rebuilding relations with Lebanon, they said. Baghdad is working to re-establish ties with its neighbours in the wake of five years of bloodshed.
