China promises for more currency reform in China-US talks

China has vowed for more reforms to its exchange rate in a high level trade talk with US. The Chinese President Mr. Hu Jintao has informed that he is interested for a gradual progress on the reformation of exchange rate of the Chinese currency.
But on the other hand, US is looking for the currency policy of China to favors its exporters. The North Korea and South Korea issue over the sinking of warship is to be discussed later in this talk.
World Expo called a bridge between China and the rest of the world by Chinese president

Officials have said that China's president has called Shanghai's World Expo an opportunity to create a bridge between China and the rest of the world.
Xinhua has reported that Hu Jintao, hosting a welcoming dinner for foreign dignitaries Friday, said the World Expo is "a grand event to showcase the best achievements of human civilization."
The president said, "It is also a great occasion for people from around the world to share joy and friendship."
Chinese President’s visit will aim at improving Latin links

Official reports have said that Chinese President Hu Jintao will visit Brazil, Chile and Venezuela this month in a move seen by analysts as part of a wider Beijing initiative to expand economic, energy and military links in Latin America.
It was also informed that Hu will be attending this year's summit of the BRIC group, made up of Brazil, Russia, India and China, that will be looking into alternatives to the U. S. dollar, Western pre-eminence and issues of nuclear security.

Beijing regards its relationship with New Delhi as one of the most important bilateral ties, Chinese President Hu Jintao has said.
China is ready to strengthen friendship, deepen mutual trust and expand cooperation with India, Hu said, speaking on the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between India and China.
Hu and his Indian counterpart Pratibha Patil exchanged congratulatory messages on the occasion, China's foreign ministry website has reported.

Taipei - The United States is planning to send an envoy to Taiwan to brief authorities on US President Barack Obama's meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao, the Foreign Ministry said Thursday.
Raymond F Burghardt, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), is to arrive in Taipei Sunday for a four-day visit, AIT's Taipei office said in a statement.

Beijing - Chinese President Hu Jintao has urged his US counterpart, Barack Obama, not to allow exiled Tibetan and Uighur leaders to conduct "anti-China separatist activities" in the United States, reports said on Wednesday.
Vice Foreign Minister He Yafei said Hu told Obama in their formal talks on Wednesday that he hoped the United States would "forbid 'Tibet independence' and 'East Turkestan' forces from using US territory to cover their anti-China separatist activities."

Beijing, Nov. 17 : Chinese President Hu Jintao on Tuesday called on his American counterpart Barack Obama to join him in the camapign to end protectionism.
President Hu said the two sides would "continue to have consultations on an equal footing to properly resolve economic and trade frictions".
He made the comments at a joint press conference after a summit meeting with Obama in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
According to media reports, climate change and North Korea also played a major role in the talks.

Obama arrived in the Chinese capital this morning from Shanghai and according to reports, is expected to continue what he called “a meeting of the minds” about how their nations can lead on global issues.
After his meeting with Hu, Obama will take a tour of the Forbidden City.

Beijing, Nov 17 - Chinese President Hu Jintao and visiting US President Barack Obama started official talks in Beijing Tuesday morning to discuss bilateral ties and global issues of mutual concern.
The talks were held at the Great Hall of the People after a closed-door meeting between the two presidents, Xinhua reported.
It is the third meeting of the two leaders this year following one in London in April and another in New York in September.
Obama is on his first state visit to China Nov 15-18 as a guest of the Chinese president. (dpa)

Hu gave Obama a state welcome at Beijing's Great Hall of the People before their formal talks, with the two leaders scheduled to issue joint statements later Tuesday.
At a meeting with Chinese students in Shanghai on Monday, Obama called for "open dialogue" with China and pointed to close cooperation in trade, energy, climate change, regional security, arms control and science.

Singapore - Chinese President Hu Jintao on Saturday met with top Taiwan official Lien Chan, a Taiwan delegate said.
The meeting on the sidelines of the annual summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Singapore lasted "nearly one hour," a Taiwan delegate told the German Press Agency dpa, but did not give further details.
Talks are believed to have focused on cross-strait trade.

Kuala Lumpur - Chinese President Hu Jintao was accorded a grand state welcome Tuesday upon his arrival in Malaysia for a two-day visit.
Hu, who arrived with his wife and a 180-member delegation, was given a red-carpet welcome at Parliament, where he inspected an honour guard.
He was scheduled to hold an audience with Malaysian King Mizan Zainal Abidin and attend a royal banquet at the palace.

New York - Presidents Barack Obama of the United States and Hu Jintao of China on Tuesday pledged to work closely to strengthen the two countries' relationship.

Uygur (China), Aug. 26 : Chinese President Hu Jintao, who made his first trip to the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region since last month''s deadly riot, has warned the separatists that they are "doomed to fail".
The July 5 riot, which killed 197 people and injured more than 1,600, were masterminded by the “three forces” of terrorism, separatism and extremism both at home and abroad, he said.
