Beijing - Chinese President Hu Jintao and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad held talks on Saturday, amid ongoing differences between Iran and Western nations over its nuclear programme.
China's official Xinhua news agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying Iran and China had "developed a sound cooperative relationship through exchanges and communication in multiple areas."
Hu thanked the Iranian leader for his country's help after the devastating Sichuan earthquake in May and for its support for the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics, the agency said.
Beijing, Aug. 11 : Referring to Taiwan, Chinese President Hu Jintao has said that the Chinese government will never change its “One China” policy, and urged the United States to support the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations.
"No matter what kind of changes take place in the cross-Strait relations, our stance of adhering to the one-China principle and opposing ''Taiwan independence'' secessionist activities will never change, and cannot be changed," Hu told US President George W. Bush in Beijing.
Beijing - Chinese President Hu Jintao and US President George W Bush held formal talks on Sunday, after Bush appealed for greater religious freedom during a church visit earlier in the day.
Chinese state media said Hu hosted a banquet lunch for Bush at the government's Zhongnanhai leadership compound following the talks.
But the reports gave no immediate details of the talks, which were scheduled to last 30 minutes.
Bush earlier visited Beijing's Kuanjie Church for Sunday morning worship.
