Indian Cricket team would try to improve on its past record against Kiwis: Pathan

Irfan PathanVadodara, Feb 18 : Cricketer Irfan Pathan on Wednesday said the Indian cricket team would seek to improve on its past dismal record against New Zealand in the forthcoming series.

Pathan told reporters here that the objective is to give our best performance.

"This would be a very important competition. If you see in the past, the Indian team has not given a good performance in New Zealand. So, we''ll try our best. We''ll be able to present a good game. We would try to win of course, and would definitely give our best," said Pathan.

RP and Vijay make way for Sachin and Irfan Master-blaster batsman Sachin Tendulkar was named in India's one-day cricket squad for the next two matches against England, marking the champion batsman's return to one-day fold after a gap of eight months.

All-rounder Irfan Pathan was also included in the squad while fellow pacer Rudra Prasad Singh and Tamil Nadu opener Murali Vijay, who were in the team for the first three matches of the seven match series, have been left out.

Headed by former skipper K Srikkanth, the national selection committee, decided to make just two changes in the 15-member squad.
