Irrfan KhanIrrfan Khan was shooting for Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Paan Singh Tomar in the jungles of Dholpur when he was left stunned on realising that dacoits had raided a village very near to their shooting locale.

A unit source reveals, “Our whole crew had to face a harrowing time but were given complete protection during the shoot. After the incident the whole crew was given special coverage and especially Irrfan. The whole crew was scared and didn’t know how to react as they had seen dacoits only in the movie and none of them had seen them face to face.”

Irrfan Khan to star in Hollywood adaptation of ‘Life of Pi’?Washington, Feb 25: Slumdog Millionaire actor Irrfan Khan, who's riding high on the Oscar success of the film, is up for a part in the movie version of "Life of Pi," according to reports.

Ang Lee is being lined up to adapt the novel into a Hollywood movie.

The director is in talks over the adaptation of Yann Martel's novel. The Man Booker prize-winning book tells the tale of a lone shipwreck survivor who shares his lifeboat with a hyena, an injured zebra, an orang-utan and a tiger.

'Indian stories will draw Hollywood'

Six weeks ago when actor Irrfan Khan was in Jaipur, he had foretold an Oscar sweep for Slumdog Millionaire which bordered on over-enthusiasm at the time. But, on Monday in Los Angeles he was among the film's ecstatic crew that walked away with eight, the maximum, golden statuettes, just as he had predicted.  

Khan who played the inquisitive police inspector who sees truth in the film's protagonist suspected of manipulating the game show could not sleep the night before the ceremony.

Irrfan Khan wins British honour for outstanding contribution to cinemaIslamabad, Feb 12: Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan has been felicitated by British House of Commons for his outstanding contribution to the Indian film industry.

The 46-year-old actor received the honour from Khalid Mahmood, Labour MP from Birmingham Perry Barr in the House of Commons.

Khan, who played the role of a Police Inspector in critically acclaimed Slumdog Millionaire, expressed his happiness over the film's huge success.
