Miandad resigned over pay dispute, says PCB

Javed MiandadIslamabad, Jan 31, : Sources in the Pakistan Cricket Board said on Saturday that former director-general and captain Javed Miandad resigned over a pay dispute.

According to sources, Miandad was offered Rs. 5,00,000 per month, which he refused.

A local newspaper published a handwritten letter from PCB's human resources director Wasim Bari to COO Salim Altaf after discussing the contract with Miandad.

In letter, Bari supported Miandad completely and asked the PCB to pay him on the same terms as agreed with ex-Pakistani coach Geoff Lawson.

According to The Nation, PCB chairman Ijaz Butt is expected to urge Miandad to continue on the post.

"PCB chairman Ijaz Butt, who is in Perth to attend the ICC meeting, is likely to speak to Miandad before deciding taking any decision over the resignation," Bari said.

New “powerless” job description prompted miffed Miandad to quitKarachi, Jan. 29 : Javed Miandad, who quit from the post of Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) Director General on Tuesday, has said that he resigned from the post because of the job description devised for him by the PCB authorities, which did not provide him enough opportunity to work for the promotion of national cricket.

Seemingly upset by the behaviour of the top PCB officials Miandad said : "I was hurt to know that as Director General, my role would be to look after domestic cricket and help develop the grounds."

Javed-MiandadDue to a limited role offered in PCB, former test captain Javed Miandad quit as director general of the Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday.

Miandad informed, "I have tendered my resignation to the chairman PCB because I was only confined to look after affairs of domestic cricket and was never consulted in other cricketing affairs."

Back in November, Miandad was appointed by incoming PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt.

Javed MiandadLahore, Jan. 28 : Former Pakistan cricket captain Javed Miandad on Wednesday said that he resigned from the post of Director-General of the Pakistan Cricket Board because he was restricted only to domestic cricket which was not acceptable to him.

Miandad said that his resignation is not linked with the board's decision of changing the captain of the national team.

He said that he had not signed any agreement with the PCB, but was working selflessly for cricket and did not take any penny from the board.

Miandad resigns from PCB Director General’s post

Javed MiandadLahore, Jan 28 : The Director General of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Javed Miandad, resigned with immediate effect on Wednesday.

Talking with Geo News, Miandad said that he cannot tolerate any interference into his matters while discharging his duties nor he can take any dictation in this regard.

He said that he was asked to look after all cricketing matters of the board but he feels that he has been restricted only to domestic cricket.

Miandad further said that he wanted to serve the country in the field of cricket, but unfortunately he is not being given the opportunity.
