Unfortunately for Button, 29, his lingerie model girlfriend, Michibata, is in Japan working, and even though he begged her to fly home for a romantic reunion, she told him she had to finish a photo-shoot.

The Formula One champ will have to wait till October 23 to meet up with Michibata, who turned 25 on October 20.

He had hoped she would meet him at the airport after he told her to stay away from Brazil so he could focus on the race, but now they will meet up for a break in Dubai.

A jubilant Button celebrated taking the Formula 1 crown yesterday – by belting out an off-key version of Queen’s hit “We are the Champions” as he crossed the finish line.

The British ace took both hands off the wheel, punched the air and screamed the lyrics: “We are the champions, my friends!”
