Washington, Nov 28 : Kanye West left a lasting impression on the American Music Awards audience by proclaiming that he wants to be Elvis Presley. And now the rapper has taken his ambition a step further.

"When I said the statement, ''I want to be Elvis,'' I really should have thought that out more because that statement was actually really incorrect. Actually, the true statement was ''I want to be better than Elvis,'' " E! Online quoted West, as saying.

And now some industry insiders have given their opinion if West has what it takes to get anywhere near Presley.

London, Nov 27: Rapper Kanye West is reportedly dating a supermodel named Sessilee Lopez to ‘get over’ his split from fiancée Alexis Phifer.

The 10-time Grammy winning rapper was bowled over by Lopez after picking her to feature in his ‘Flashing Lights’ music video.

“Kanye was instantly smitten with Sessilee and it’s not hard to see why. She’s hot!” The Sun quoted a pal of Lopez, as saying.

It has been reported that Kanye has even invited Lopez to many of his high profile parties.

Washington, Nov 18 : Comparing his recent stint with snappers to Princess Diana’s life, rapper Kanye West has demanded a law to protect celebrities from the prying eyes of paparazzi.

In the early hours of Friday morning, police detained the ‘Gold Digger’ star after an alleged scuffle with a photographer outside the Tup Tup club in Newcastle, England.

While West was released without charge, he has now called for legal ban on taking photographs without permission.

London, Nov 17 : Rapper Kanye West has likened himself to Princess Diana in an online rant about his arrest over an alleged scuffle with paparazzi photographer in a nightclub in the UK.

The 31-year-old singer was arrested on the suspicion of assaulting a photographer in Newcastle club, but was later released.

West criticised the media, whose practices he deems ‘intrusive’.

“Regardless of how much light I put out there are people working just as hard to only deliver darkness,” British tabloid The Sun quoted him as writing on his blog.

Washington, Nov 17 : Rapper Kanye West has denied that he assaulted any photographer outside a nightclub in Newcastle on November 14.

The 31-year-old singer was arrested and later released after the alleged incident.

While writing on his blog, he called the incident "bogus".

"When I left the club, I was encountered by a thirsty paparazzi as usual. He felt he had more rights to my space than me, so I put my hand up to prevent him from taking my image. I didn''t assault him,” People magazine quoted him as writing.

The ten-time Grammy Award-winner in a newspaper interview revealed that his latest album bore the marks of his personal loss – the agony of losing his mum.
