Mumbai, Nov 19 : Rumours are rife that Kareena Kapoor's role in "Kurbaan" is similar to Katrina Kaif's in "New York" -- both the actresses are featured in near-identical roles of a wife who discovers her husband to be a closet-terrorist.

"Kurbaan" director Rensil D'Silva doesn't deny the similarities between the two films but doesn't comment on the similarity of the roles.

Mumbai, Nov 19 : The Bombay High Court Thursday declined to stay release of film "Kurbaan", due to be out Friday, but sought the responses of filmmaker Karan Johar and actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor to a petition terming two of its songs "vulgar".

A division bench of Chief Justice Swatanter Kumar and Justice A. M. Khanvilkar slated the next hearing for Jan 14, 2010.

Petitioner Mohammed Ali demanded that the film's release be stayed or the film be released after deleting the two objectionable songs. The division bench declined both pleas.

Kareena Kapoor has many admirers at the same time those who criticize her work in films via their reviews. But the top-notch actress only trusts one critic. That critic is in her family itself and is none other than her elder sister Karisma Kapoor.

The duo launched an online game of their film in Mumbai on Friday.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Kurbaan has got an ‘A’ certificate by the Censor Board. This is because of the violent and sizzling scenes in the film.

The violence and the setting of the film, which is terrorism, led to the Censor Board taking this decision. They felt it would be suitable only for an adult audience. Rensil D’Silva, the director of the film, tried talking to the Censor Board authorities and convince them into giving it a ‘U’ or ‘U/A’ certificate but they wouldn’t budge.

The news was confirmed by the Regional Officer of the Censor Board, Vinayak Azad.

Mumbai, Nov 12 - Kareena Kapoor says there is nothing "vulgar" about her backless shot being used for the publicity posters of forthcoming release "Kurbaan", an intense thriller about terrorism. In fact, she says, it subtly reveals a lot about the story.

"This shot of me in a backless posture and Saif with a wound on his chest tell so much about the film's theme," Kareena told IANS.

Mumbai, Nov 4 - Bollywood actors often describe their shooting schedule as a picnic. But "cold and depressing" is what Saif Ali Khan has to say about the US shoot of "Kurbaan", speaking for not just himself but also girlfriend and co-star Kareena Kapoor.

" 'Kurbaan' was hard work. Period. In fact, the Philadelphia schedule was plain hell. It wasn't anything like a picnic shooting for the film," shudders Saif, who is glad that the film is complete and ready for release.

New Delhi, Nov 3 : After promoting her size zero figure in India, actress Kareena Kapoor has chosen to endorse Sony's newly launched half-inch thin notebook VAIO X because the product goes well with her looks - "thin and lightweight", the actress said Tuesday.

"The whole size zero thing in India has more to do with people being slim and lightweight. And I am slim and lightweight. And so is this laptop. I think this new laptop is very chic and sexy and people also often associate me with these qualities," Kareena told reporters at a press conference here.

New Delhi, Oct 31- Kareena Kapoor is clear she will never endorse food chains like McDonald's or Burger King, known for their beef burgers and the like, while co-actor and boyfriend Saif Ali Khan says he can't think of doing an underwear ad.

"I will not endorse non-vegetarian products like McDonald's or Burger King. I won't endorse alcohol or tobacco. This is the policy I always follow because if I don't relate to such things, I should not advocate them either," Kareena said at the HT Leadership Summit here Saturday.

"I like to know who is going to be the director of photography of my film. How am I going to look. Police claimed to have solved a case of theft, which happened on October 8 at Kareena Kapoor's Rose Queen residence on 14th road in suburban Khar.

The Mumbai police arrested Bebo’s three house servants named as Pawansingh Chouhan (24), Anita Osami (35) and Tina Yadav (26) on October 15, who have confessed to the criminal offense.

The police recovered a pearl set and a ring worth Rs 41,000 and Rs 1.53 lakh in cash, from them.

Mumbai, Oct 15 - Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor, who strutted down the ramp for her friend Manish Malhotra's bridal collection at the ongoing HDIL India Couture Week here with her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan, says it was a very special show for her.

"I have walked the ramp so many times in the past for my friend Manish, but this was different and very special because for the first time I was walking with Saif. It's always a special feeling to be with him," Kareena told IANS after the show.

Added Saif: "Yeah, it was a lot of fun. We had fun during rehearsals as well."

Mumbai, Oct. 12 : Underprivileged children in Mumbai literally had stars in their eyes when they met Bollywood actors Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Sohail Khan, as part of the promotion of their upcoming film, ''Main aur Mrs. Khanna''.

New Delhi, Oct 8 : Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor romanced on the 125th floor of a hotel in Melbourne for their forthcoming romantic movie "Main Aurr Mrs Khanna".

"Usually the Australian government doesn't allow such film shootings to take place in the Realto hotel, that too on the 125th floor. But when they found out that it was none other than Salman and Kareena who were going to shoot there, they readily agreed," said a source.
