New Delhi, July 18 : Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has zeroed in on "Blood Money" as the title for his next project after he asked his followers on social networking site Twitter to give in their suggestions.
"BLOOD MONEY is the title for our Kunal Khemu and Amrita Puri film which is directed by a brilliant new director Vishal Mahadkar," Bhatt tweeted Monday.
As a term, blood money means a monetary compensation paid by an offender to the family of a murder victim. Whether Bhatt's movie is central to this term, is not known yet.

Mumbai, July 14 : Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani were ready with the first look of "Don 2: The Chase Continues" and Mahesh Bhatt was set to celebrate the success of "Murder 2" Wednesday evening, but the filmmakers cancelled their plans following three bomb blasts in Mumbai, which killed over 20 people.
The launch of the first look of the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer "Don 2" was to be held 7.45 p. m. onwards at Cinemax, Andheri West, while the success party for Mohit Suri's directorial "Murder 2" was scheduled for 9 p. m. at the J. W. Marriot hotel in Juhu.

October 7, 2010 : Emraan Hashmi starrer upcoming movie Crook will be releasing this Friday but the movie is still under controversy! The censor board has asked producer Mahesh Bhatt to edit a topless scene of a woman to get a U/A certificate for his movie. But Mahesh is adamant to keep the scene in 'Crook' and for this, he is ready to release the movie with an ‘A’ certificate.
However, the director of the movie, Mohit Suri wanted to get a U/A certificate for his movie so he approached his uncle for the same, but Mahesh wanted to release it as ‘Adults Only’.

Mahesh Bhatt, the veteran director, producer and screenwriter, has again taken the pen to jot down his next project called `Murder 2'. Bhatt is back to writing after four years. In 2006, he wrote the story of the movie `Woh Lamhe', which was almost like his autobiography.
`Murder 2' will be co-written by Mahesh Bhatt with Shagufta Rafique. The movie is based on the heinous Nithari killings in Noida. So, the movie is not going to be a sequel of the 2004 film `Murder', which had Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat in the lead roles. Mohit Suri will direct the movie, which will have a new girl opposite Hashmi.

Chandigarh, Aug 14 - Bollwood film producer Mahesh Bhatt, noted journalist-writer Kuldeep Nayar and many social activists will light peace candles at the Attari-Wagah border and exchange sweets with people from the Pakistani side Saturday night. The Border Security Force (BSF) has made elaborate security arrangements at the border post, an official said.
The BSF said it will beef up security at the Attari-Wagah joint land border checkpost between India and Pakistan to ensure smooth Independence Day celebrations there Saturday midnight.

Call it coincidence or a quirk of fate, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s son Rahul was to make his acting debut playing a suicide bomber.
Nothing unusual about that, except that Rahul is currently mired in a controversy over his “friendship” with David Headley, a terror suspect arrested by the FBI. Vishesh Films, the family-owned production house, was to launch him in Suicide Bomber, as announced by his uncle Mukesh Bhatt.

Mumbai/New Delhi, Nov 13 - Mumbai police have questioned Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's son Rahul for his alleged friendship with David Coleman Headley, the Pakistan-born US national who is in FBI custody as a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) suspect.
Rahul Bhatt, a fitness instructor, was let off after questioning as he was unaware of Headley's terror links, said sources in the Mumbai Police.
According to sources, during questioning Rahul admitted to having known Headley and also helping him rent a flat near Breach Candy Hospital.

New Delhi, Nov 11 : Indian Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt says he and his daughter Pooja are the only Indian artists invited by the Pope who is meeting artists across the globe in the Vatican City to discuss global peace.
The father-daughter duo will join 500 others artists at the Sistine chapel Nov 21.
"It is true that Pooja and I will be meeting the Pope in the Vatican. Five hundred artists from around the world have been invited by the Pope and we are the ones from India. We will leave on Nov 19," Mahesh Bhatt told IANS.

The Supreme Court sought well-known film director Mahesh Bhatt's view on a government lawsuit for scrapping a Delhi High Court (DHC) verdict, which permitted scenes of cigarette smoking in movies for the sake of art on Thursday.
A bench of Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan and Justice P Sathasivam wanted Bhatt's reaction on the central administration's lawsuit and sent him a notice for it.
