Neil DiamondAmerican singer Neil Diamond has turned 70 on January 24 and is ready to enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after spending 50 years of successful career in the entertainment business. His official induction will take place in March in New York City.

Neil, who is well known for his classic tunes and sequin shirts, will join the league of his fellow entertainers Alice Cooper, Darlene Love, Tom Waits and Dr John. In the 60s and 70s, Diamond was all about rock n’ roll but he shifted his music to more adult contemporary style in the early 80s.

Neil Diamond turns to fencing medal for luck!London, September 23 : Singer Neil Diamond has revealed that he turns to a fencing medal he won as a teenager for luck.

The 68-year-old star said the swordfighting prize he won as a high school student works as his lucky charm.

"This really tiny fencing medal has been a good omen for me,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

“I do believe in luck, and I somehow think this medal brings me good fortune.

"(Winning it) was a defining moment for me. It really did change me because it raised my self-esteem," he added. (ANI)

The two got in touch using social networking site Twitter. com with Durst approaching the 68-year-old for a collaboration.

“I am a huge fan of yours. We should do a collaboration - Neil Diamond meets my band Limp Bizkit. Sounds fresh," the Daily Express quoted Durst as telling Diamond in a public chat.

The `Heartlight' hitmaker revealed his heart wept when he saw the wretched condition of the Texan victims hit by the 2008 hurricane.

That moment itself Neil decided that what better way to accumulate money for the victims than through his loyal audience.
