Pierce Brosnan, Uma Thurman to play Greek gods in new filmLondon, Mar 27 : Former James Bond Pierce Brosnan and Uma Thurman have been roped in to play Greek gods in a film based on Rick Riordan's novel.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the pair will be seen in Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief, an adaptation of Riordan''s first novel in his popular five-book series.

The story is based on Greek mythology and centres around young Percy Jackson, who discovers that he is the son of Poseidon, god of the sea, reports the Daily Express.

The couple were honoured with the Responsible Activism in Media and Entertainment award at the second annual Jane Goodall Institute Global Leadership Awards Celebration in Washington, D. C., on November 7.

Both Brosnan and Shaye have been involved in the institute''s Roots n Shoots global environmental youth programme, ever since it came into being in the early 1990s.

He added: "But I think he''s going to make a greater president. And Mr. Daniel Craig is a great Bond of his time."
