The letters went under the hammer on September 30.

The highest bid of 9,200 pounds was made for the letter in which teen Diana confessed she danced like an elephant, reports the Sun.

However, it was Di’s letter to Mary Clarke, written six months past her wedding to Prince Charles, that sell for an amazing 8,000 pounds – four times higher than expected.

In a letter to her ex-nanny, Diana, seventeen at that time, wrote “watching me dance is like watching an elephant.”

It is one of four letters — never seen before — to Mary Clarke that are expected to fetch more than 10,000 pounds.

The letters shall go under the hammer on September 30 in Colchester.
