Hamburg  - The biggest European football transfers this summer could hinge on the future of Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery.

The German Bundesliga lags behind the top leagues in England, Spain and Italy in income and class, but even World Footballer of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo will have to wait for Bayern's decision with bated breath.

Madeira (Portugal), May 9 : Manchester United and Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo's sister, Elma, was robbed by soccer yobs in revenge for the Portuguese ace scoring against their side.

Three Porto fans looted her clothes shop.

Elma, 34, could only watch as they took gear worth thousands, snarling: "Your brother's a cuckoo. He scored against us."

Elma, whose store in Madeira was bought for her by Ronaldo, 24, said: "I couldn't do anything in case they hit me." (ANI)

Sao Paulo - The Corinthians, with veteran striker Ronaldo as their main star, on Sunday won the Sao Paulo state football championship.

"Timao," as the Corinthians are known, were unbeaten in the tournament and drew 1-1 Sunday against Santos. They would have won the championship even with a Sunday defeat, provided that they did not lose by more than two goals.

Sao Paulo, Brazil - Three-time world footballer of the year Ronaldo could be fit enough to play for Brazil at the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa, his team doctor told German Press Agency dpa.

Although Ronaldo will be nearly 34 when the tournament takes place, he should be physically strong enough to play at the highest level, Corinthians doctor Joaquim Grava said.

Sao Paulo  - The veteran Brazilian striker Ronaldo confirmed his recovery 13 months after knee surgery with a brace in Corinthians' 2-2 draw against Ponte Preta, in which he played the full game for the first time since the operation.

Ronaldo, 32, who has undergone three major knee injuries in his career, now has scored an average of 0.8 goals per game at his Brazilian club, very close to the best numbers of his footballing life.

Rio de Janeiro - Ronaldo made his long-awaited return to competitive football Wednesday, making a second-half appearance as a substitute for Brazilian side Corinthians in a cup match against Itumbria.

Three-time world footballer of the year Ronaldo failed to get on the scoresheet after coming on in the 68th minute but saw his side win 2-0.

The 32-year-old striker has been out of action since undergoing knee surgery on his left knee to cure an injury he picked up while playing for AC Milan in February 2008.

Sao Paulo  - Mano Menezes, the coach of Brazilian football team Corinthians, was upset Tuesday about the attitude of his star striker Ronaldo, who reportedly danced till dawn at a Sao Paulo nightclub.

"That harms his image a little and it even causes us a few problems," Menezes said in an interview with Brazilian television cannel SporTV.

Ronaldo reportedly danced till 6 am in the middle of the physical recovery work he is doing after undergoing surgery to his left knee almost a year ago.

Rio de Janeiro - Brazilian superstar Ronaldo received the perfect gift on Christmas eve. His fiancee Maria Beatriz Anthony gave birth to a baby girl on Wednesday, local media reported.

Ronaldo was present when his daughter, Maria Sofia, was born and even cut the umbilical cord. The baby is healthy at 49.5 centimetres and weighs 2.98 kilograms.

This is Ronaldo's second child. He has a son, eight-year-old Ronald, with his former wife and model Milene Domingues.

The headline has been splashed across the Rio de Janeiro sports daily Lance yesterday, a day after the player nicknamed ''the phenomenon'' and scorer of more World Cup goals than any other man decided to join Corinthians.

Ronaldo''s decision to join a Sao Paulo club was a slap in the face, compounded by the fact that he has been recuperating and training with the Flamengo squad for four months since a major knee injury while playing for AC Milan in February put him out of action.

The 22-year-old described herself as a good Catholic girl who liked to
read the Bible.

Last week, Abreu was spotted in the company of Ronaldo's singer sister Katia
watching the Man U winger play two international games for Portugal in Lisbon.

According to The Sun, Luciana lost out in the Pop Idol contest in 2004. But
