Sir Roger Moore named ‘Person Of The Year’ by PETALondon, Nov 20 : Former James Bond Sir Roger Moore has been named Person of the Year by animals rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).

The star, a long-time animal lover, received the honour for his campaign to ban controversial French delicacy foie gras.

Moore has been working tirelessly since 2006 to convince bosses at British department store Selfridges to stop selling the product, which is made from the engorged livers of ducks and geese.

The 81-year-old actor starred as James Bond in seven films from 1973, with ''A View to a Kill’ being his last in 1985.

Moore said he didn''t enjoy violent films, including his own last Bond film.

"It''s not my style of movie. I don''t particularly like gore," The Herald Sun quoted him, as saying.

However, Moore did say that violence wasn''t that made saw bow out of the Bond franchise.

Washington, Nov 7 : Former James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore has said that after recommending Daniel Craig for the 007 role he has began to feel like a father figure to him.

The ‘Gold’ actor was among Craig''s cheerleaders when critics claimed he wasn''t suitable to play to the world''s most famous secret agent.

"I supported him all the way through, from the time they were saying he''s too short, he''s too blond, he''s not right for Bond. I said ''Wait and see - he''s a hell of a good actor,” Contactmusic quoted Moore, as saying.

Moore even felt like taking care of Daniel, who hurt himself on the Bond set.
