Boxer Vijender Singh To Finally Make His Film DebutThe handsome boxer Vijender Singh, who brought an Olympics medal for the country, is ready to make his debut in Bollywood.

After lots of fake and confusing reports of his debut as a leading man, the boxer genuine acting launch would be in a movie named 'Patiala Express', where the boxer plays.... a boxer!

The film will be produced by Percept Ltd and the shooting will start by early 2011. The director is yet to be finalized.

Before that, Vijender will undergo three months of acting course from October onwards.

Four Indian pugilists sail into CBC final

The popular Indian boxer Vijender punched out Tanzanian Selemani Kidunda 10-1 in the 75 kg category in the semifinal bout. Suranjoy defeated Welshman Andrew Selby 4-0 in the other semifinal of the 52 kg category.

The Beijing Olympic bronze medalist Vijender is leading the ranking table with 2513 points while Beijing Olympic silver medalist Emilio Correa Bayeux is placed at the second spot with 2300 points.

Uzbekistan's Abbos Atoev, who had defeated Vijender in the semifinal of the World Cup 2009, has occupied the third place with 1875 points.

Vijender Singh India’s star pugilist Vijender Singh has created yet another history as he jumped to no. 1 place in the middle weight category (75 kg) in the latest International Boxing Association's (AIBA) rankings announced on Tuesday.

The Beijing Olympic bronze medalist Vijender Singh had won bronze medal in the recently concluded World Championships in Milan. This was first ever medal won by any Indian boxer in this event.

The reality show is believed to have been inspired by US version 'The Contenders'.

The show is being co-produced by Bulldog Media and Entertainment and Percept Picture Company.

The Beijing Olympics bronze medal winner has become the first Indian boxer to ink such a deal.

The deal is estimated to be between Rupees five to six crores.

It is expected that deal will send positive signals in the sporting world.

Percept hopes to become the face of sports and entertainment in India.

Singh is the first Indian to appear in the semi finals of the World Boxing Championships.

Currently ranked number two Singh punched out Sergiy Derevyanchenko of Ukraine, 12-4 on Thursday to ensure a medal for the country in the prestigious event.

Atoev is currently the light heavy weight world champion, but returned to the middle weight category this year.

(AIBA) while three other Indian boxers have also been ranked in top-10 boxers in their respective categories. Vijender had won bronze medal in the Beijing Olympics last year.

Vijender, the Khel Ratna awardee, has been placed behind first ranked Olympic silver medalist Emilio Correa Bayeux of Cuba (2500 points) with 1700 points. Vijender had won bronze medals in European Grand Prix in Czech Republic and the Asian Championships in China this year.
