After spending 4-months in Israel, Freida Pinto has completed the shooting of “Miral”, which will hit screen later this year.
Freida plays Miral, a girl raised in a Jerusalem orphanage in 1950s, with story spanning several decades.
Shot in Israel’s capital and Tel Aviv, the flick’s other cast members comprise Oscar nominated Willem Dafoe, Alexander Siddig, and Hiam Abbass.
Directed by Julian Schnabel, the poignant historical drama flick is written by Rula Jebreal, produced by Jon Kilik, cinematography by BAFTA nominated Eric Gautier, music by Olivier Daviaud and edited by Oscar nominated Juliette Welfling.
In a statement, Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed stated that it showed that India’s rich filmic talent was in high demand not only in Tinseltown but also in different other moviemaking centers around the world.
Dance and drama custom went back to early times in India and sage Bharata codified the regulation in his treatise Natya-sastra, Zed, who is chairperson of Indo-American Leadership Confederation, added.
Freida Pinto has also finished her shooting for romance flick “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger” (Woody Allen), which was shot in UK and is about a family. (With Input from Agencies)
