Planet Fitness kicked a customer out of its membership program who was a member at the Midland location in Michigan. Planet Fitness gym cancelled Yvette Cormier’s membership after she complained about a transgender individual who used the women’s locker room facilities.

Cormier complained that a man who was actually a transgender woman walked into her locker room while she was changing. Following the incident, she complained to the front desk and eventually to the corporate offices.

However, she was told that transgender women were allowed in there as the members can use the locker room that corresponds with their gender identity. However, Cormier disagreed with that policy, and told other women about the transgender individual in the locker room.

Upon learning this, Planet Fitness’s corporate office called Cormier and told her she was violating their ‘no judgement’ policy and responded to her by revoking her membership as she violated the company’s ‘no judgment zone’ policy.

Planet Fitness issued a statement saying, “Planet Fitness is committed to creating a non-intimidating, welcoming environment for our members. Our gender identity non-discrimination policy states that members and guests may use all gym facilities based on their sincere self-reported gender identity”.
