Planned Parenthood terms raid by Texas Office of Inspector General as politically motivated

Planned Parenthood clinics in Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio witnessed a raid from agents from the Texas Office of the Inspector General who arrived there Thursday morning for getting documents related to allegations of Medical fraud.

The agents stayed there for many hours and gave the administrators 24 hours to provide them with the documents. Planned Parenthood thinks that the raid was 'politically motivated'. Planned Parenthood of the Texas Capital Region Chief Executive Officer Ken Lambrecht said that Texas has asked for information, which as per the organization is not required.

The information includes employees' home addresses, salaries and bonuses. A letter has been sent to the CEO of Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast (PPGC) Melaney Linton. In it, Stuart W. Bowen Jr., Texas Health and Human Services Commission's inspector general has written, "We have begun terminating your enrollment because, based on the evidence outlined below, you are liable, directly or by affiliation, for a series of serious Medicaid program violations".

Bowen also mentioned that Texas has reached at a decision that Bowen and Planned Parenthood affiliates can no longer provide medical services fulfilling certain requirements like professionally competency, safety, legality and going as per ethical manner.

As per Bowen, Planned Parenthood has 30 days to reply and if they are unable to do that then they will be automatically cancelled from Medicaid funding. On the other hand, Planned Parenthood finds it to be a dirty, political attack.
