PML-Q ready to accept six demands made in CoD

Lahore, Dec 8: PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that his party will recommend to the government to accept six of the total 15 demands made in the Charter of Demands by the ARD and the APDM joint committee.

He further said that six demands would be accepted if the opposition parties announce that they would not boycott the elections.

The opposition’s demand for the restoration of the deposed judges is not part of the six acceptable demands.

Addressing a party ticket distribution ceremony, Shujaat said currently the party tickets were being issued to the National Assembly candidates.

PML Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed was also present on the occasion.

He said the PML-Q was ready to recommend the following six demands:

1) Candidates using the government resources should be disqualified from contesting polls;

2) Government employees running campaigns for any candidate should be suspended;

3) The use of government vehicles for running an election campaign should be banned;

4)Announcementsby caretaker ministers in their respective constituencies should be cancelled;

5) Emergency should be lifted;

6) Date for election should not be extended.

Earlier, Mushahid Hussain said that the party candidates had completed their homework regarding the elections, The News reported. (ANI)
