Police Break Up Priyanka’s Party; Impose Rs 5,000 Fine For Breaking Rules
In a significant move, the city police imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the event organizer of Priyanka Chopra’s party at her residence in Versova (W) for noise pollution.
Priyanka threw the party for her loving friend and Hollywood actor Gerard Butler.
The Bollywood actress invited a trouble by partying loud during the wee hours of 1st May (Friday).
The neighbors of the actress complained that loud music was played at the bash late into the night.
While commenting over this development, a senior police officer said, “Police control room received a complaint today at around 02.30 AM that loud music was being played in Raj Classic building in Versova. When police reached there, they found that party was going on in Priyanka's flat.”
The Mumbai police had called on Priyanka’s house to turn down the volume of the music following complaints from the slum-dwellers in the neighborhood.
The police took the DJ, Raja Mohammed Bashir, to the police station, but released him (Raja) after he deposited a fine of Rs 5,000.
However, Raja was asked to remain present before a local court tomorrow, they said.
“Depending on the nature of the case, the court would decide whether to fine him or punish him in any other way,” the officer added.
No complaint was lodged against the actress.
