New Delhi/ Jammu, Nov 30: Home Minister Shivraj Patil submitted his resignation over the Mumbai terror attacks that killed nearly 200 people while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) welcomes the move and accuses the Congress of ''collective culpable negligence''.
Terrorists armed with rifles and grenades -- at least some of whom arrived by sea -- had fanned out across Mumbai on Wednesday night.
Gunfire and explosions rocked two luxury hotels and a Jewish centre leaving at least 195 people killed and 295 wounded after nearly a three-day long siege.
Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Ajit Singh indicated that he is going to join BJP-led NDA very shortly.
"We are discussing with many parties, but there are only two alliances-one is NDA another is UPA," he said to reporters. But when asked about his talks with BJP, he indicated an alliance.
"There are many crossings in the way," he added.
Earlier BJP chief Rajnath Singh said that, the decision on the alliance with RLD will be announced soon. Sources in the RLD said the party wants to contest at least 10 seats in western Uttar Pradesh.
Narsinghpur/Jabalpur (MP), Nov 25: Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi has refuted the BJP''s allegations of being soft on terror.
Addressing a public rally in Gadarbada town of Narsinghpur District on Monday, Gandhi said: "It was whose rule when our parliament was attacked? Was it Congress'' rule or BJP ? Tell me, whose rule was it? Besides this they are asking an account of 50 years of our rule. Such people are asking, who since independence have been poisoning the society and dividing the people. Such people should feel ashamed,"
