New Delhi, Oct 4 : Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader L. K. Advani on Saturday said that his party was committed to re-enact Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) and make the country terror free.

He was addressing a seminar on ''War on Terrorism'' in New Delhi today.

Advani claimed that the main difference between the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA) and BJP was that while the former was only playing vote bank politics, the latter was actually concerned about the interest of the country.

He also called the present government a “non-Government” as it had completely failed to curb terrorism.

New Delhi, Sept 26 : Senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vijay Kumar Malhotra will be the party''s chief ministerial candidate in the upcoming elections for Delhi.

The party announced this in New Delhi today after hours long meeting.

“The election of Delhi state Assembly is round the corner. After consulting the party workers and the leadership it has been decided to field Doctor Vijay Kumar Malhotra as the chief ministerial candidate and he will lead the party in the elections,” told senior party leader Arun Jaitley, in a news conference.

New Delhi, Sept 25 : BJP leader Gopinath Munde said on Thursday that Poonam Mahajan, daughter of late Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Pramod Mahajan, is likely to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

While ruling out Rahul Mahajan’s entry into politics, Munde said: “Rahul Mahajan will not enter politics. He is busy with his reality show. However, Poonam Mahajan is likely to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections from South Mumbai constituency against Milind Deora of Congress.”

New Delhi, Sept 25 : The Communists and some of their allies staged a protest here on Thursday against the India-US civil nuclear agreement and demanded an immediate convening of Parliament to discuss the issue.

They accused Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of going back on assurances that he gave in Parliament in connection with the deal, which, they have alleged, would compromise the country''s sovereignty.
