New Delhi, Mar 20 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday released the names of candidates for two Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir.

Advocate Leela Karan Sharma will be BJP’s candidate for the Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat while the former State BJP Chief Dr. Nirmal Singh will try his luck from the Udhampur-Doda seat.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers’ Party has announced the name of Professor Bhim Singh as its candidate from the Udhampur parliamentary constituency.

New Delhi, Mar 19: Bharatiya Janashakti Party leader Uma Bharti on Thursday reiterated support to Bharatiya Janata Party''s prime ministerial candidate L K Advani.

"I have met Advani for the third time now. I have already met him twice earlier. I told him that I would offer all support to him that would be required for him to become the Prime Minister. But let me clarify once again that I don''t wish to join BJP, I am happy with my party and I am proud of it. I have not been able to fight elections due to lack of funds," said Bharti.

New Delhi, Mar 17: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Varun Gandhi, on Wednesday claimed that the tape showing his alleged anti-Muslim remarks has been doctored.

He told reporters that the CD released on March 16 was tampered with and refused to accept that the tape contained his voice.

Gandhi said that he is proud of his faith and is a Gandhi, a Hindu and an Indian in equal measure. " I''ve been a victim of a political controversy," said Gandhi.

Indian IT firms termed BJP's tech vision as a good opportunity for IT firms, facing the heat of global slowdown and tight financial conditions.

Bharatiya Janata Party recently announced its IT vision document, after consultation with heads of leading IT firms, in which the party committed to create 12 million IT-enabled jobs for rural Indian segment by increasing the use of technology in different economic domains.

New Delhi, Mar. 17 : BJP’s Prime ministerial candidate Lal Krishna Advani has found a supporter in Bhartiya Janshakti Party chief Uma Bharti, who has now come out in support of his candidature.

In a letter to Advani, Bharti is believed to have expressed her support for the veteran leader, sources claimed.

Interestingly, Bharti had left the BJP accusing Advani of partisan behaviour.

A close aide of Bharti reportedly delivered her letter saying that she would be “happy to see Advani in the Prime Minister''s chair.”
