The present version of Portal is a sequel to the first game that was released in 2007 with Valve's The Orange Box compilation of games that involved teleportation as a medium to pass through various hurdles and cross stages.

Meanwhile the delay caused by Valve and Aperture Science comes in the form of confession that states that 'making games is hard'. In further addition to this the company words were as follows: "even though Portal 2 will arrive slightly later than planned, all life on earth won't instantaneously stop as every molecule in your body explodes at the speed of light."
