Pyramid Saimira Flags Off Its First Cineplex In China
Pyramid and Longzhe Culture and Theatre (PLCTL), has rolled out its first ever theatre in Huainan, China - the Huainan Pyramid Longzhe Theatre Entertainment Tower.
According to the sources, PLCTL is a joint venture, formed between Chennai-based Pyramid Saimira Theatre and Longzhe Group supported by The China Society of Music Research Board (CSMRB).
For further expansion, the JV eyes to pump $ 30 million in the coming 6 months in China.
While commenting on the launch, Uma Saminathan, director, Pyramid Saimira's Chinese Joint venture stated, “Our main aim is to provide the people of China with international standards of entertainment and hospitality and our theatres/ music/ films/ other cultural events/ training setup in film and drama, would be a symbol of that.”
The sources revealed that Huainan Pyramid Longzhe Theatre Entertainment Tower is a two-screen cineplex with a total seating capacity of 290 seats, with gaming zones and food court. The theatre also consists of private rooms for music and entertainment called KTV.
While indicating future road map, Pyramid and Longzhe Culture and Theatre Limited stated that they are eyeing to launch a Liyang Pyramid Longzhe Theatre Entertainment Tower in Liyang, which is spread over 3500 sq ft. This Cineplex, which consists of 4 screens, would be fianlized by November 2008.
