Bhubaneshwar, Mar 7: Rahul Gandhi to begin Orissa tour from todayCongress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will begin his four-day tour 'Discover India' from Orissa's Nuapada District today.

Rahul will commence his tour from the Koraput, Bolangir, Kalahandi (KBK) region, hit by starvation deaths in the 1990s.

The tour will cover several districts of the state, and will include interactions "with youths, students, tribals, farmers and party workers", focusing on issues such as education and employment.

Besides Nuapada district, the 37-year-old Rahul is scheduled to tour Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Angul, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Cuttack, Jajpur and Khurda.

Besides addressing public meetings at Angul and Ganjam, he will also address a 'Jungle Bachhao' rally at Bhawanipatana in Kalahandi district and a tribal youth rally at Karanjia in Mayurbhanj district.

His programme also includes a students' rally in Bhubaneswar, tribal and dalit rally at Bamara and youth rallies at Banki and Rourkela.

Rahul is expected to visit naxal-affected districts of Rayagada, Sundargarh and Sambalpur.

Rahul, who is AICC General Secretary in charge of the Youth Congress and the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), had recently announced plans of undertaking a country-wide tour, during which he said he would talent hunt for youth interested in politics and would focus on the problems of the young people.

According to sources, Rahul's next stop will be a southern state, most probably Karnataka, which goes to polls in May. (ANI)
