Rajendra Lodha Dies In London

Renowned industrialist and chartered accountant, Rajendra Singh Lodha, died of a Rajendra Lodha Dies In London heart attack in London on Friday. He was 66.

R S Lodha is survived by two sons and a daughter. 

Speaking on this, his son, Harsh Lodha, said, “My father probably died of heart attack but we will get to know after the postmortem.”

As a chartered accountant by profession, Lodha had always been very close to the Birla’s. His firm Lodha and Co. was auditor of a large number of Birla companies. However, in 2004, Lodha was involved in a legal battle with Birla’s after the widow of M P Birla, Priyamvada, willed nearly Rs 5,000 crore empire to him. After her death, Lodha had become chairman of the group. The legal battle between Lodha and the Birla family is still pending in several courts in Kolkata and elsewhere.

Lodha had also served as the president of apex industry chamber FICCI. He was also a close friend of steel baron’s Lakshmi Niwas Mittal.
