Ranbaxy launches Amlodipine tablets in Japan

Ranbaxy, a leading Pharmaceuticals conglomerate, has announced that it Ranbaxy launches Amlodipine tablets in Japanhas finally rolled out a drug named, Amlodipine tablets in the Japanese market.

Available in the capacities of 2.5 mg and 5 mg, the drug is suggested for treating hypertension.

Pointing out on the launch, Mr. Malvinder Mohan Singh, CEO and MD of  Ranbaxy stated, “The present reform process by the Government of Japan is encouraging generic substitution, and Ranbaxy is well positioned to offer its affordable generic alternatives to the Japanese healthcare system.”

For marketing Amlodipine tablets in Japanese market, Ranbaxy has got approval from Ministry of Health and Labour Welfare (MHLW-Japan) in April 2008.

The generics market in Japan is viewing 30 per cent rise in its volume by 2012. 

Ranbaxy had already strengthened its business foothold in the Japanese generic market by marketing four of its product in that country.

Shares of Ranbaxy Laboratories settled at Rs 464, up Rs 1.30 on National Stock Exchange.
