Rebel BJP MP joins CongressA day after he resigned as Lok Sabha MP as well as from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleging that party tickets were being sold ahead of the Rajasthan polls, Rebel BJP MP Vishvendra Singh joined the Congress ahead of assembly polls in Rajasthan, with the approval of party Chief Sonia Gandhi.

“The decision has been taken after the approval of the party president,” said Tom Vadakkan, Congress party media secretary.

Singh was representing Bharatpur Parliamentary segment from the BJP. But on Thursday he resigned as Lok Sabha MP as well as from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

He alleged that party tickets were sold ahead of the Rajasthan polls.

On Thurday in press release Singh said, "The party tickets were virtually sold for huge money, at the cost of sincere party workers. The party's central leadership was aware of all this, but it remained a mute spectator."
