Reddy Instructs Officials To Undertake Vaccination Prog In Andhra Pradesh

Congress will win Andhra elections: ReddyAndhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy has instructed state health functionaries to start a substantial vaccination programme immediately in regions, which were affected by diseases such as cholera, gastro-enteritis and diarrhoea.

Mr. Reddy also directed them to supply chlorine tabs to affected people in the state capital plus other regions.

The Chief Ministers Office informed that Mr. Reddy, who is now holidaying in Bengaluru, reviewed the health situation during a tele-conference with health functionaries and ministers concerned today.

The CM wanted the hospitals to maintain sufficient stocks of required medications, which can easily cater to all affected patients.

Mr. Reddy also demanded a coordinated action between different departments to make sure that the outbreaks were controlled.

He asked the relevant district managements to carry on special medical camps to deal with needy patients.

He also wanted the Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board to amass more samples of water for screening.

He told officials of the urban as well as rural water supply departments to guarantee proper chlorination of water.

However, the minister disapproved the demand made by opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu for announcing a health emergency in the state considering the epidemic of diseases.

He anticipated dependable reaction from the Opposition leader at least in a situation like this, the CMO release said.
