Abohar, Nov. 25 : The Punjabi Durbar programme of Radio Pakistan has a new theme. In its recent broadcasts it finds the burly Sikhs not having enough health and education facilities.
While Sikhs settled in different parts of the world are sending their children to Punjab to get them admitted to schools here to ensure that they receive good education and imbibe traditional Punjabi culture, the Punjabi Durbar programme wants people to believe that there is discrimination against them in education facilities.
Abohar, Nov. 8 : Punjab''s rich rural heritage is generally feared to be fading due to the impact of modern science and technology. Recently, in Abohar, an attempt was made to preserve the glorious past of Punjab through a special exhibition.
Over 150 students from different colleges participated in an exhibition, which was an attempt to help in "Exploring Historical Perspectives on Pluralistic Society and Polity in Punjab".
The exhibition was held at the DAV College in Abohar.
Abohar (Ferozepur), Sep. 22 : The Punjabi Durbar programme of the Pakistan Radio its new series of broadcasts has been trying to promote insecurity among Indian Muslims living in Abohar.
According to the Pakistan Radio, Hindus are exploiting Muslims and other minority groups. The allegation is that these members of these communities are not allowed to follow their religion freely. And, the minorities don’t have equal rights as enjoyed by the Hindus.
Muslims, residing in Abohar town of Punjab’s Ferozepur district, have reacted angrily to such a baseless propaganda.
