Patna, Apr 7 : A case has been lodged against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for making derogatory remarks against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Varun Gandhi.
The Kishanganj District administration filed its complaint against Lalu Yadav under the People''s Representation Act this morning.
Patna, Apr 6 : A petition was filed in the Patna High Court on Monday seeking criminal contempt proceedings against former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi for alleged derogatory remarks.
Senior advocate Ashutosh Ranjan Pandey filed the petition against Rabri Devi, for allegedly making insulting remarks against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Janata Dal- United (JD-U) chief Rajiv Ranjan at a poll rally in Saran on April 4.

Bhagalpur, Apr 5 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shahnawaz Hussain has said that he would focus more on development rather than playing caste politics.
Hussain had suffered defeat in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections from his home constituency Kishanganj. However, he contested again to win the by-elections from Bhagalpur, defeating the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Shakuni Chaudhury.
Hussain said he was confident enough to win the constituency again.
Patna, Apr 2 : The Patna High Court on Thursday rejected Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Pappu Yadav's petition seeking suspension of a conviction in a murder case to enable him to contest the upcoming general elections.
Pappu Yadav, who has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court for murdering Communist Party of India- Marxist (CPM) leader Ajit Sarkar, is currently out on bail.
A division bench comprising Justices Shiv Kirti Singh and Dharnidhar Jha disallowed him from contesting elections.
