Yuvraj ruled out of Sri Lanka ODI series, doubtful for Bangladesh tour

Cuttack (Orissa), Dec 22: Indian middle order batsman Yuvraj Singh was on Tuesday ruled out of the ongoing one-day international (ODI) series against Sri Lanka after failing to recover from a finger injury.
“Due to the finger injury sustained earlier, Yuvraj Singh has been advised rest and therefore he will not play in the fourth and fifth ODI matches against Sri Lanka,” BCCI Secretary N. Srinivasan said in a statement.

Cuttack, Dec 21 : India defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the third One-Day International of the five-match series at the Barabati Stadium here Monday.
Chasing 240, India made 242 for three in 42.2 overs after Sachin Tendulkar scored an unbeaten 96.(IANS)
Jadeja restricts Sri Lanka to 239

Cuttack, Dec 21 : Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja picked up career-best four wickets for 32 as Sri Lanka failed to take advantage of a breezy start and were bowled out for 239 in 44.2 overs against India in the third One-Day International at the Barabati Satdium here Monday.
Openers Upul Tharanga (73) and Tillakaratne Dilshan, who hit an 18-ball 41, gave the visitors a run-away start with a 65-run stand after skipper Kumar Sangakkara elected to bat. The first 58 runs came off in just four overs after Tharanga and Dilshan hammered Ishant Sharma for a 19-run over.
Kidney of an 11-year old goes missing

The recent case of missing kidney of an 11-year old has once again sparked the issue of organ trade. Police are presently investigating the case reported by father of the child.
Babuli Nath, a native of Tirtol in Jagatsinghpur district, has complained that a kidney of his son Abinash has gone missing after the operation. The boy was operated for removal of his appendix at a private clinic in Cuttack in October, 2006. Abinash complained of pain in the abdomen this year. Two separate ultra sonography tests showed that his right kidney was missing.
Sharma stars for India Red

Though wickets kept on falling at the other end, Rohit Sharma kept his head cool. The Mumbai batsman scored 117 runs off just 120 balls (13 fours and 2 sixes). Opening batsman M Vijay also did well notching up 59-ball 45.
Earlier, batting first, India Green set a daunting target of 261 with Naman Ojha's scoring a well made 96 runs. Ojha and Dhawan (45) added 102 runs for the for the opening wicket and then Ojha and Suresh Raina (58) took India Green to a strong position. But the team lost its momentum in the last overs by losing seven wickets just for 63 runs.

India Blue is said to be the favourites to retain the trophy. It has presence of large number of star players including skipper Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthapa, Irfan Pathan, Dinesh Karthik and Virat Kohli. This has given them advantage over other two teams.
The other team in the tournament is India green lead by Mohd. Kaif.
Yuvi as the fans call him is eyeing for a double century in the first match. ''My form has not been that good in recent times.Therefore, I am aiming to score a double hundred and bounce back into form,'' he said after the net practice session.
Netaji Museum to have INA Memiors

Netaji Subhash Birthplace National Museum in Cuttack would have an exclusive gallery to display Indian National Army (INA) memoirs including photos, portraits and regalia of INA soldiers.
The gallery is expected to be completed and opened to public on the 112th birth anniversary of Netaji on January 23, 2009.
'We are going to add three new galleries to the existing eight of the double-storied museum this year which would be inaugurated on the birth anniversary of the legendary leader. Of these, one gallery would be exclusively dedicated to INA memorabilia,said an official.
