Somnath (Gujarat), Oct 16 : Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has offered land to Tata Motors for its Nano project in Bihar.

He made the announcement after inaugurating a five kilometer-long Veraval-Somnath broad gauge line and the Veraval-Jabalpur Express Train.

During his short 15-minute speech at the railway station, Yadav said, "Sanand farmers are being harassed. If at all the project has to be in Gujarat it could have been at Dwarka. If you are really looking for land for the project, come to Bihar.”

Nano car project is facing new challenges day by day. Now, the state congress demanded details of the deal signed between Gujarat government and Tata motors. 

The party has demanded the detail through Right to Information (RTI) Act. The party alleged that the state has changed the entire industrial policy for the sake of small car project of TATA group. 

The Congress spokesperson, Arjun Modhvadia has also demanded proper compensation for affected farmers of Sanand.
 
Gujarat Congress president, Sidhdharth Patel said that the party wanted to disclose the incentives being offered to the landholders. He also alleged the change in industrial policy of the state for the benefits of TATA.

Ahmedabad, Oct 12 : Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said that Tata Group''s ''Nano'' car project is good for state''s economy in spite of global economic recession.

Speaking at the inauguration of a flyover at Chanakyapuri in Ghatlodiya of the city, Modi said, "Some people who are trying to create problems in the project''s path will not get success."

The Chief Minister added that people are happy that Nano project is in the state.
