Hyderabad, Apr 3: A no-confidence motion moved by the Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) against the Congress Government was defeated in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly by a voice vote at around 2:00 a. m. this morning.
The three-day acrimonious debate was marked by uproarious scenes and a hurling of allegations and counter-allegations, forcing Speaker K R Suresh Reddy to adjourn the state budget session.
Replying to the debate, Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhar Reddy refuted all allegations levelled against him and his cabinet colleagues by Leader of Opposition and TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu.
