If violence continues in J-K, our response too will be hard: Manmohan SinghNew Delhi, Aug 15: Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Friday warned that his government''s response would be hard if the violence continued in Jammu and Kashmir.

Firing on India-Pakistan border

Firing on India-Pakistan borderSrinagar, India - Pakistani troops fired at Indian forward positions along a de facto border between the two countries in Jammu and Kashmir state early Friday, Indian officials said.

The Pakistani troops fired rockets and mortars at two places in forward areas of Jammu region, Indian Army sources said. There were no casualties.

Indian troops did not retaliate and a protest would be lodged with the Pakistani government, the sources said.

The line of control is a de facto border dividing the disputed Kashmir region into two parts, one administered by India and the other by Pakistan.
