Karachi, Apr. 13 : Pakistan cricket team coach Intikhab Alam is banking upon captain Younus Khan to succeed against Australia in the forthcoming UAE series.
"For me, Younus will be our key man. He is such a positive man, a true leader who has injected a much-needed team spirit among the boys," Alam said referring to Khan's forecast of a five-nil Australian white wash in the series.
Karachi, Apr. 12 : The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has rubbished reports that fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar could be made to undergo dope tests ahead of the UAE one-day international series against Australia.
The PCB said that the rules formulated by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) do not apply on tournaments involving two countries only.
A board official said that dope tests would be carried ahead of the World Twenty20 Championship which is scheduled to be held in England in June.
Karachi, Apr 8 : The Karachi police on Wednesday foiled an attempt to carry out a terrorist act by arresting five alleged terrorists, seizing explosives and a large cache of ammunitions from them.
CCPO Wasim Ahmed confirmed at a news conference that the accused Muhammad Akbar, Sarfaraz, Faridullah, Faisal Sheikh and Dar Muhammad Baloch were arrested following an exchange of fire near Super Market in Sohrab Goth.

Akhtar, who was included in the team for the April 22-May 7 series after he was declared fit following a series of extensive fitness tests, said Pakistan has not played much international cricket in recent times unlike Australia, which clearly hands the Kangaroos the advantage.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawyer, Arshad Khan Jadoon, said that three miscellaneous applications were filed by the PML-N seeking certified copies of the judgment by an anti-terrorism court (ATC-I) for Karachi division.
Karachi, Apr. 7 : The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is skeptic about the International Cricket Council (ICC) giving clearance to players who sided with the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) to play in the World Twenty 20 Championship scheduled to be held in England in June.
The PCB has included three rebel cricketers Abdul Razzaq, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan and Imran Nazir in the list of 30 probable for the T20 World Championship.
