Now, Navin Jindal becomes another shoe gate targetKurukshetra, Apr 10 : Congress MP Navin Jindal today became another target of a shoe-throwing incident.

A retired school principal threw a shoe at him here on Thursday.

Rajpal, a former teacher, reportedly hurled his shoe while he was addressing party workers.

Later, Rajpal was taken to a local police station for interrogation. The reason behind the incident was not known.

According to sources, the lack of opportunities for teachers was cited as a reason.

Heavy security at Kurukshetra ahead of Friday’s solar eclipse

Kurukshetra (Haryana), July 31: Security has been beefed up in Kurukshetra ahead of a fair to be held on Friday to mark the Solar eclipse.

Haryana Government sources said this precautionary step is being taken in the wake of the damage caused to life and property by the serial blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad.

Nearly 1.5 million pilgrims are expected to attend the solar eclipse tommorow.

According to Hindu mythology, whosoever takes a dip in the tanks here on the solar eclipse day, is freed from all his sins and attains salvation.

Sonia to attend 44th All-India Oriental Congress in Kurukshetra todayKurukshetra, July 28 : Congress president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi will be the chief guest at the 44th All-India Oriental Congress at Kurukshetra University in Haryana today.

State Governor Dr. AR Kidwai and Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, along with other dignitaries, will also be present on the occasion.

A large number of renowned scholars from various parts of the country and aboard will attend the three-day deliberations of the conference.
