Lahore, Nov 20 : Pakistan President Asif Zardari is learnt to have called up PML-N leader and former premier Nawaz Sharif last evening to convey his “strong displeasure” over distribution of “immoral” photographs of Governor Salman Taseer’s son by Punjab Law Minister to the media recently.
The Punjab Government, led by Nawaz’s brother Shahbaz Sharif, is known to be irked by alleged unwanted political interference into government’s day-to-day work by the Governor.
Lahore, Nov 17 : The Pakistan’s unit of the Taliban, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has reportedly said that it will not negotiate with the Pakistan government in future because the latter was “inciting” common people (by forming lashkars) against them.
TTP spokesman Maulvi Umar said that the Taliban tried to resolve their issues with the government through dialogue but lashkar leaders were planning to eliminate them at the government’s behest.
Lahore, Nov 15: Former Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif has categorically stated that he would not appear before the Supreme Court on November 20 because he did not recognise the legal status of PCO judges.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief the leaders like him would have to stand by their commitments, when asked whether he would appear before the apex court in connection with his disqualification case.

Lahore, Nov 14 : A top cop in Gujranwala town in Pakistan has reportedly directed the local cablewallahs not to air Indian entertainment channel “Star Plus” because programmes running on this channel hurt conservative or religious sentiments.
But, the cable operators have complained against the move saying that their business largely depended on this particular channel, as it was immensely popular in Pakistani households.
Lahore, Nov 13: Pakistan Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has reportedly found the involvement of senior bureaucrats and politicians in the Khanani and Kalia (K and K) foreign currency scandal.
Quoting FIA sources, the Daily Times reported that during investigation, Javed Khanani and Munaf Kalia had offered to bring down the price of US dollar to Rs 72-74 if they were let off the hook.
