London, Sept 17: If you think that alcohol drinkers are of only two kinds, that is, normal and alcoholics, then here’s a piece of information: Britain’s health bosses have identified nine different personality types.

The Brit government researchers have analysed people’s social and psychological characteristics who regularly drink twice the recommended guidelines of alcohol.

They found that the personality types ranged from depressives who drink at home alone, to macho exhibitionists who spend almost every evening in the pub.

London/New York - Britain's Barclays bank has agreed to buy some of the core assets of stricken US investment bank Lehman Brothers for 1 billion pounds (1.75 billion dollars), the two banks said Wednesday.

Barclays had bought Lehman's North American investment banking and trading unit for 250 million dollars, and paid 1.5 billion dollars for its New York headquarters and two data centres following negotiations in New York.

According to a new research of the consumer habits of the nation, only 12% of the British people are able to hit the target recommended by the experts. Global market insight group TNS found in the study that 12% people eat five portions of fruit and vegetable in a day, and other 12%people do not eat any portion of fruit and vegetable.

The study, titled ‘Health of Britain – Perspective on Nutrition 2008’found the differences between age, gender and social class .On an average, people in Britain eat two and a half portion of fruit and vegetable in a day.

London, September 17: An international team of scientists has predicted that our galaxy, the Milky Way, contains a disk of ‘dark matter’.

The team includes astronomers Dr Justin Read, Professor George Lake and Oscar Agertz of the University of Zurich, and Dr Victor Debattista of the University of Central Lancashire, who have used the results of a supercomputer simulation to deduce the presence of this disk.

They have explained how the simulation could allow physicists to directly detect and identify the nature of dark matter for the first time.
