Bollywood actor-cum-Samajwadi Party candidate, Sanjay DuttLucknow, Mar 29 : Bollywood actor-cum-Samajwadi Party candidate, Sanjay Dutt on Sunday faced students' ire after he failed to meet them as videly expected at the college campus here. He is Samajwadi Party's candidate from Lucknow constituency.

Dutt's convoy was pelted stones allegedly by university students for not meeting them.

Dutt had come to meet the college staff and students to seek their support for the upcoming general elections.

Azaruddin's name was announced among the fourteen names declared on Friday by the Congress party.

Sanjay Singh, who belongs to the royal family of Amethi, is the Congress candidate from his pocket borough Sultanpur.

Total of 105 companies made 284 offers to the 235 students with 25 students accepting pre-placement offers (PPOs) as per reports from the management institute.

BSP will contest general elections alone, says MayawatiLucknow, Mar 20 : Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Friday said that her party would contest alone in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

"In all the states we will contest the election on our own and we will not tie up with any other political party," Mayawati said on the sidelines of a press conference here.

She also informed that her party would start its nationwide poll campaign from Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.

Sanjay Dutt woos Muslim clerics in LucknowLucknow, Mar 17: Bollywood actor and Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate from Lucknow Sanjay Dutt sought the support of Muslim clerics.

Dutt visited a mosque and termed it as ''personal'' visit.

Dutt said that he wanted Muslim clerics to pray for him so that the Supreme Court grants him permission to contest the elections.

"I would ask the Muslim clerics to pray for me, so that I get permission. I have full faith in the Supreme Court and God. And even if I don''t get the permission then also I would stay here only," said Dutt.
